How does FSD/FCSD compset work w.r.t SST's

Hi all,
How does FSD/FCSD compset work w.r.t SST's? Since we are prescribing the meteorology,does it read SST's and ice_coverage from the file mentioned in the variable 'stream_fldfilename' in ice_in?Or does it read the surface temperature TS from the prescribed meteorology file(GEOSS/MERRA2)?
Please clear my confusion.
