How does FSD/FCSD compset work with SST's?

Hi all,
How does FSD/FCSD compset work w.r.t SST's? Since we are prescribing the meteorology,does it read SST's and ice_coverage from the file mentioned in the variable 'stream_fldfilename' in ice_in?Or does it read the surface temperature TS from the prescribed meteorology file(GEOSS/MERRA2)?
Please clear my confusion.

SSTs are prescribed as defined in the env_run.xml file and this file is used for SSTs in the model. Only atmospheric temperatures are nudged in FCSD,
as well as some surface fluxes. There are versions of the model that can also use SSTs from MERRA, but not in the default setup.
