How NSPLTVRM, NSPLIT and NSPLTRAC affects the model dynamics ??

Dear Users,As in some case of un-stablity in FV dycore's vertical advection scheme as a result of crossing of the Lagrangian levels model crashes, Then it is advised to increase the "NPLTVRM", "NPSLIT" and "NSPLTRAC" to avoise the model to crash and run sucessfully. (https://bb.cgd.ucar.edu/node/1002415)A quistion arises that how the increasing of above namelist variables will affects the model dynamics ?? I doubt it may but no idea upto what extent ??
Incase ahlf or more than half of planned run is completed with dafult values of above variables and rest after the issue occurs with increased values of above. What would be the expected difference, or It doesn't affect the calculations ? but how. Please help me in understanding the effect of above settings,
Beacuse my concern is that setting these variable will also help the model for the issue.Expected value to be greater than     0.000000000000000
