How to change datm.streams.txt.* files

Dear,
i am trying to run CLM with DATM model with my own atmosphere forcings, and here is how I created the case:

and i changed my user_nl_datm as

and put this files in the case directory.
However, every time when i build the case, the model generate a file , and did not read my streams files at all.
In adiition, my atmosphere datasets are at daily frequency. Is it possible for us to run model with it?

My first thought is to change to
--res 360x720cru
because I think
--res CLM_USRDAT
assumes 1x1.

Thanks for your reply! I tried 360x720cru but the model could not find the DATM files so I changed to CLM_USRDAT. In any case I will try modify the input data and will let you know what will happen :)

Dear Sam,

I think I know how to do it. Generally we should use hcru_hcru and the DATM model can be CLMGSWP3v1, then we need to copy the datm.stream* files to the case directory and rename them to user_datm.stream*.

Dear Sam, sorry for so many questions! I have another question here. In the env_run.xml, I set the RUN_STARTDATE to 2001-01-01, however, I checked the log files and found that the model is always reading the file 1997-01. In datm.* files I set offset to zero. Do you have any ideas why it could happen?

It's going to depend on how you have these set:
DATM_CLMNCEP_YR_ALIGN
DATM_CLMNCEP_YR_START
DATM_CLMNCEP_YR_END

Thanks for your reply! I reset the RUN_STARTDATE to 1901
then I set DATM_CLMNCEP_YR_ALIGN TO DATM_CLMNCEP_YR_START
DATM_CLMNCEP_YR_START = 1901
DATM_CLMNCEP_YR_END=2019

However, in the atm log, it shows:

I don't see why that wouldn't work. Can you attach your datm_in file and your streams file for prec?

I actually wanted to look at your resolved namelists, e.g, datm_in, as I mentioned above. However, it may be that your user_nl_datm is overwriting your specification of 1901 for DATM_CLMNCEP_YR_ALIGN settting in env_run.xml of 1901 with "1". Try changing the 1 in your user_nl_datm to 1901.
