How to change the start year in simulations under FHIST compset?

Dear all,

I plan to run FHIST simulations with both transient forcing and land. I have gotten the transient land data start from 1898. Now, I need to change the start year of the simulation to 1898, to make sure the forcing or some other input data also starts from 1898. To achieve it, I plan to do the following configuration. Please help me correct or supplement if there is any problem with my configuration.

1. In order to let the initial condition of forcing, i.e. ncdata, to be the 1898 value, I intend to configure a REFCASE for 1898. I find the REFCASE file from "/glade/campaign/collections/cmip/CMIP6/restarts/".
./xmlchange RUN_TYPE=hybrid
./xmlchange RUN_REFDIR=/glade/campaign/collections/cmip/CMIP6/restarts/b.e21.BHIST.f09_g17.CMIP6-historical.011/1898-01-01
./xmlchange RUN_REFCASE=b.e21.BHIST.f09_g17.CMIP6-historical.011
./xmlchange RUN_REFDATE=1898-01-01
./xmlchange GET_REFCASE=TRUE

2. In order to let the first year of prescribed SST and ice coverage data to be 1898, I would configure them as below.
./xmlchange RUN_STARTDATE=1898-01-01
./xmlchange SSTICE_YEAR_ALIGN=1898
./xmlchange SSTICE_YEAR_START=1898
./xmlchange SSTICE_YEAR_END=2016

Is the above configuration reasonable? Are there any other parameters to consider?

I would appreciate it if someone experienced in this field could check for me.

Best,
Song

We expect you, as a research scientist, to figure out things like this through trial and error. Unfortunately our support does not include checking every user's configuration.
