Hi,

I am going to make the surface data and domain data for a region including ocean grids with a finer resolution than 0.125 degree. I read the CLM5 documentation and find the SCRIPgrid*.nc files are necessary for the generating the mapping as well as the following surfdata and domain data files.

I find the supported SCRIPgrid*.nc files under the directory /glade/p/cesm/cseg/inputdata/lnd/clm/mappingdata/grids. What is the tool to generate them ? The mkscripgrid.ncl under $CTSM/tools/mkmapgrids ?

Sincerely,

For a region that includes ocean, yes, I think you would use mkscripgrid.ncl. An alternative method is suggested in the User's Guide, although I personally haven't tried this:

"If you HAVE ocean in your domain you could modify the mask in the SCRIP grid file for ocean, and then use ESMF_RegridWeightGen to create the mapping file, and gen_domain to create the domain file. "
