I am using clm5.0 configured with BGC mode. I am wondering is there any variable to check to see whether a tree is dead ? Does clm5 define the death of a tree ?
We generally use TLAI (total leaf area index) to define survivability of a pft.
A pft is "dead" if the annual maximum of monthly average LAI is less than 0.1.
