Hi, everyone ,
l want to use 2000(present day) forcing on cesm2.1.3, but compset B1850 provide pre-industrial forcing.
l decided to use 2000_CAM60_CLM50%BGC-CROP_CICE_POP2%ECO_MOSART_CISM2%NOEVOLVE_WW3_BGC%BDRD, and use a historical restart file for running.
Do you think this is right?
Does it start from a spun-up condition ?
Hope to get your help!

./create_newcase --res f09_g17 --compset 2000_CAM60_CLM50%BGC-CROP_CICE_POP2%ECO_MOSART_CISM2%NOEVOLVE_WW3_BGC%BDRD --mach wxy --case ./case/B2000 --run-unsupport

./xmlchange RUN_TYPE=hybrid
./xmlchange RUN_REFDIR=/public1/home/sc93477/xyw/cesm/inputdata/cesm2_init/b.e21.BHIST.f09_g17.CMIP6-historical.003.rest.2000-01-01-00000
./xmlchange RUN_REFCASE=b.e21.BHIST.f09_g17.CMIP6-historical.003
./xmlchange RUN_REFDATE=2000-01-01
./xmlchange RUN_STARTDATE=2000-01-01

Hi there,
So the answer to your question depends on what you really want to do here. If you want to cycle over the year 2000 over and over, then I think this would work. Another option would be to use the B1850 compset but set your ref date and start date to 2000-01-01 and that should work as well. If you want to run with transient historical forcing from the year 2000 on forward, then you should use the BHIST compset and set the refdate and start date to 2000-01-01.

I'm simulating a real Madden-Julian Oscillation event in 2011 through nudging U V T Q.
In order to get the anomaly, I need to simulate for 30 years to get the climate state.
Best wishes
