Hi everyone,
Any hints on modifying the FHIST--CAM with interactive land (CLM5), data ocean, prescribed sea ice, and non-evolving land ice (CISM2.1) ) to a non-interactive CLM (the rest component are the same with FHIST).
Thanks in advance.
Best,
Skylar

More specifically, my question is how to run FHIST with fixed land data. Any hints would be helpful!

I can answer the way that you would do this. I can not say if scientifically this is something that we recommend or not. Section 6.3 of the CAM6 User's Guide 6. Customizing CAM runs — camdoc documentation
lists how create your own compset.

In a nutshell the FHIST shortname is a simplification of the CESM explicit compset longname. The longname allows you to specify whether to use a running model version, data model or slab model for each component. The details of the longname is found in the link in the above mentioned section, but repeated here:

Again, be very careful when you set up compsets using the longname as many will result in combinations which will not produce meaningful results. As a software engineer, I can not say if your proposed setup will result in meaningful results or not. I am simply giving you the directions on how to do this.

Hi Cheryl,
Thanks for your suggestions. It would be a helpful start for me to customize FHIST.
