On Tuesday 24 October 2023 @ 5pm MT the forums will be in read only mode in preparation for the downtime. On Wednesday 25 October 2023 @ 5am MT, this website will be down for maintenance and expected to return online later in the morning.

How to turn off restart output in the rest directory?

Dear CESM users, I'm running the CESM 1.2.1  compset F_2000_CAM5. Due to very limited computing resources I have, my model has to restart every month, therefore, the restart output files in the $DOUT_S_ROOT /rest directory take too much disk space (output each month). I wonder if there is a solution to turn off such short term restart file output? There are namelist varibles that turn on/off output hist files for CAM, CLM, CICE, RTM component, but I didn't find any parameters that control rest output. For a restart run, the files in the run directory is enough, so I don't  need to short term archive theserestart files, right? thanks,Bo
