How to write CLM history files from a SCAM run?

I am running the single column CAM model. I am getting results for the atmospheric component of the model but not for the surface variables. How do I write out net CDF history files results for land variables like layer soil temperature, soil moisture etc?

I have no experience running the SCAM... If you do not get an answer from the Land Modeling forum, you may want to try one of the other branches of the forum.
