Hybrid run ATM and POP components not starting from same date

I am using CESM 1.0.6 and starting a hybrid run from a 3500 year simulation. Under env_conf.xml i have set RUN_REFDATE to 3501-01-01. However, although the dates in the history files for POP and CICE start from the year 3501, the dates in the history files for CAM and CLM start from day 0. I am under the impression that setting RUN_REFDATE should dictate the start date for all the models. Is there any other configuration that i am supposed to do to get the output dates to match? Thank,

Deepak,When interpretting time values in history files, be sure to make note of the units of the time variable. These units are of the form "days since YYYY-MM-DD 00:00:00". I suspect that the apparent discrepancy you are seeing is because the different components of CESM have different reference dates in the time:units attribute. With hybrid runs, I think CAM and CLM set the reference date in the time:units attribute to be the model's STARTDATE.Keith
