Hi,
I am reading the CESM tutorial about "Setting up a branch or hybrid run" in the following link.
http://www.cesm.ucar.edu/models/cesm1.0/cesm/cesm_doc/x2544.html
In this example, the user is building a branch or hybrid run from b40.B2000 at year 0001-02-01, i.e., from February 1st of year 1.
In the branch run, I believe the model will start integration of Feb 1st of year 1. This is fine since the model's restart file is also for Feb 1st of year 1.
However, for hybrid run, since the tutorial has no mention of the modification of the variable RUN_STARTDATE in env_conf.xml, I assume the model will start integration of Jan 1st of year 1. This seems to be puzzling in term of the seasonality as it seems not appropriate that the model is integrating Jan 1st from Feb 1st restart file of another simulation.
