iCESM 1.2: Driving a G case using output from a B case

Hello,

I am working on a paleoclimate modeling project using iCESM 1.2. I have restart data from a fully coupled B case that I have been developing over the past few months, and in order to fully equilibrate the ocean while saving on computation time, I want to use this data to drive a G case that uses the same boundary conditions. I can't find much info in the user manual about how I can do this, could anyone please advise?

We do this fairly often where we set up coupler history output for 20 years or so. I thought we had a procedure documented for this, but I can't find it. I am moving this to the POP forum as people there might be able to help.

There is the so-called cplhist mode. There is a flag that tells DATM to read in coupler history files saved from a B run. These are often saved from the 1850 spinup runs. There is a driver flag histaux_a2x3hr that makes sure the coupler history is saved. Are you looking for existing coupler history files? I can't find any except for some CCSM4 cases:

These might work for the iCESM version you are using. Or do you want to save the forcing yourself? There is a bit of CESM1.2 documentation here:
