I would like to ask you what kind of computer the WACCM model can be installed and works well. Would anybody like to help to give me some examples. I like to buy one ,for example, Intel x86 linux server with multi cores, and run the WACCM but I am afraid WACCM can not be run with it:)

Thanks!

WACCM is a superset of the CAM and CCSM models. These models will run on many platforms. We at this time are only supporting running WACCM on our IBM supercomputers at NCAR.

CAM will run on most arcitectures, including x86 chips under linux. WACCM has additional memory requirements of probably close to 1GB per set of processors to store chemistry lookup tables etc.

We cannot support it, but in general if you can run CAM on the computer you should be able to run WACCM on it.

Hope that helps.
