Ipcc 1870_control

I would like to run CCSM3 with the IPCC configuration "1870_CONTROL" at T42_gx1v3. The model fails because it can't find the appropriate SOx_emmisions file in inputdata_user. I want to run the model with the aerosols, sulphates etc fixed at 1870 values.

This run has already been done with CCSM3. See the page

http://www.ccsm.ucar.edu/experiments/ccsm3.0

The case name is "b30.043".

Yes. The run has been done and I am using the run you mention as my control. However I have to do additional sensitivity runs in which I would like to change insolation among other things while keeping everything else as in the "b30.043" experiment. I can't do this because the code requires the Aerosol file which is not in the standard inputdata directory.

Please download the file "ccsm3.0.inputdata.T42.tar" from the Earth System Grid:

http://www.earthsystemgrid.org/down...ata.T42.tar&size=195645440&service=DISKatNCAR

It has the necessary input datasets.

I managed to download the files and build the 1870_CONTROL at T42_gx1v3, However when I plot the temperatures TS,TSMN and TSMX, I notice they are exactly the same. Can you help me figure out why? A previous post "http://forum.cgd.ucar.edu/showthread.php?t=29" suggest that this is an error and refers users to get corrected data but how do I correct my run?

Hey Folks,

I'm trying to run an 1870 control run at T42 as well. I'm attempting to validate a model port, so require a long control run for comparison and the experiments I'm planning will use 1870 as a baseline.

I've downloaded the datafile as suggested, but it transpired that I already have all of those files. The model is searching for SOx_emissions_64x128_L2_1850-2000_c040129.nc instead of the SOx_emissions_64x128_L2_1870-1871_c040520.nc file that's been provided.

Obviously others have encountered this situation, so I was hoping for some help.

Cheers, Chris

I can provide the 1850-2000 file to you via anonymous ftp.

Anyone who needs the same file, send me a private message.

Thanks!
