What tools exist for converting hybrid-coordinate output files of ccsm3 to ipcc-ar4 format? Has such a utility been incorporated into NCL?

For the CCSM3 contribution to the IPCC AR4, we created special NCL codes and other routines to manipulate the output data to the IPCC required format. There isn't a general-purpose utility built into NCL to accomplish this, and the codes/scripts we used are not available for general release.

CCSM4 may have the ability to write out IPCC-compliant data, but that is an issue under consideration, and at the very early stages of discussion.
