IPCC SRES scenarios

Dear sir/madam,

I am looking to run CCSM3 experiments to simulate current and future climate and have a few queries I would appreciate any help with:

1) Is it possible to run the SRES scenarios (A1Fl, A1T, A1B, A2, B1, B2) automatically by using the IPCC_MODE environment variable, and if so where could I obtain all the necessary input data?

2) Is there information available on the values of the ghg concentrations and how they are specifically included in the model for each of the SRES scenarios (namelist settings etc)?

With thanks,

Judy.

No. The "IPCC_MODE" doesn't quite work that way.

Information on the CCSM3 IPCC AR4 runs is available at

http://www.cgd.ucar.edu/ccr/strandwg/CCSM3_AR4_Experiments.html

The input datasets are available via the Earth System Grid (ESG) at

http://www.earthsystemgrid.org/brow.../ccsm/thredds/ccsm.3.0/ccsm.3.0.input.thredds

Registration at ESG is required.

With thanks,
