Is it possible to test CIME & DATA_ASSIMILATION scripting without running component models?

Hi,

I’m working on ensemble data assimilation with CESM.

Is there a way to ‘run’ cesm without running the component models? e.g. a fake CAM that creates sample CAM output so I can test scripts and/or modifications to CIME?

I’m using multi-instance. Ideally I'd like test my scripts/CIME without running the actual ensemble members for all active components, but using representative model output.

I looked at the S and X compsets, and I don’t think they are what I’m looking for, but maybe I am missing something.

Cheers,
Helen

You might have to write something to achieve the specialization you have in mind. I can probably help with that: do you have the representative output that you want to use?
