Is soil moisture simulated at the middle point of each soil layer in CLM?

I am using the file named: mrsol_Emon_CESM2_amip_r1i1p1f1_gn_195001-201412.nc
There are total water content of soil layer. I am wondering is mrsol simulated at the middle point, top point or bottom point of each soil layer in CLM?

For the default 20SL_8.5m layer scheme, the soil moisture is simulated at the node depth of each layer, the middle. See Table 2.2.3 in the technical note:
