ITYPVEG vs. pfts1d_itypveg

Good day! What is the difference between the fields ITYPVEG(pft):"plant functional type" produced by the DGVM and pfts1d_itypveg(pft):"pft vegetation type" in the initial/restart files? I thought they might basically refer to the same thing but upon checking, there are lines that are different. Thanks!

I think I would have expected them to be the same, too. So I'm not sure what the difference is. For a definite answer you should look at the piece of code in the clm that writes out these variables.
