landfrac vs landm_coslat

Hi,
Could someone tell me the difference between 'landfrac' and 'landm_coslat' that is in the topology dataset. Which of them is important for determining the amount of land in CAM 3?

Landfrac is the correct one. landm_coslat is uses as a smoothing factor for some constant values that vary between ocean and land.
