Meaning of 4xCo2 for b30.026b and the data periods

Dear all,

I have worked on b30.009, b30.026a.ES01, and b30.026b.
b30.009 is control run, I think it is a background run,
b30.026a.ES01 is CCSM 1%/year CO2 increase experiment, to 2x, I interpret it as the 1% CO2 increase per year until the doubling of CO2 reached.
b30.026b says CCSM3.0 4x CO2 run, T85_gx1v3, I don't know how to interpret it, quadraped CO2 run?
Could you please give me a hint?
Why b30.026b only have data with time period 549-698? why cannot correspond to the control run time 1-599. Whether 549 in both runs suggest same time?
and b30.026a.ES01 only have data with time period 479-630.

That is correct. Forcings are held fixed at 1870 values.

b30.026.ES01 was run from year 0400 to year 0560, with the CO2 1% increase starting at year 0410 and continuing throughout the run.

b30.026a.ES01 was branched from b30.026.ES01 at year 0480, and CO2 was held fixed from then onwards, at 710 ppm.

b30.026b was also branched from b30.026.ES01 at year 0550, and CO2 was held fixed from then onwards, at 1420 ppm.

Year 0549 in both runs is the same time. b30.026b was a CO2 run branched from the CO2 1% increase run, but with CO2 fixed at 1420 ppm.

b30.026a.ES01 was just like b30.026b, a branch from the CO2 1% increase run, but with CO2 fixed at 710 ppm.
