Hi all,
Since CESM gives output at GMT and i want to plot diurnal variation of some meteorological variables over India (GMT+5:30) ,i was wondering if i could use avgflag_pertape =L (local time history averaging)? I am a little confused with the meaning.does it give you the output for your local time.I am assuming you have to set fincl1lonlat namelist variable for it to give the output for local region. What do you understand by it?
Any help is appreciated.
looking forward to your reply!

anushree,

CAM does not have native support for local diurnal output. You can use the 'L' processing to only add output to an average for columns in a specified time range (lcltod_start to lcltod_stop). You can use a number of these variables to capture local averages for different periods throughout the day.

fincl<n>lonlat is used to select columns by region instead of by time. You should be able to combine fincl<n>lonlat with 'L' processing to capture local time output over a specified region (or regions).

Does this help?
