Modeling Future Temperatures

Hello everyone!I apologize for this likely elementary question. I am working in an internship-like program for NASA and next term we will be doing a project for the Department of Natural Resources. One component of this project is identifying the temperature range in which sea turtles lay their eggs and track the movement of nesting sites over the past couple decades. Then, we want to see how changes in the future climate (in a few steps between 5-100 years) will potentially shift viable sea turtle nesting sites (in Maryland). Previous NASA projects in this program have used the "National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) Community Climate System Model (CCSM) IPCC Climate Change Commitment Scenario Ensemble" but unforauntely previous team members cannot be contacted, so I cannot ask them for more details. This website was the closest I could get to the climate models, but I'm honestly not sure how to actually retreive the information that I need. Again, I do apologize if this question is entirely out of scope with the data and models provided by this website, but any assistance you can lend whether using these products or others would be greatly appreciated! Kiersten

You might want to start at this website:http://esgf-data.ucar.edu/esgf-web-fe/it has all of the collected results from the CMIP5 experiments - it represents an ensemble of data from CESM as well as a large number of other climate models from institutions around the world.

The specific set of experiments you're describing were run with the old CCSM3 model for the IPCC Fourth Assessment Report, IPCC AR4. Those data may still be available via the CMIP3 data portal, at PCMDI: http://esg.llnl.gov:8080/ Alternatively, the data are available from the NCAR ESG portal; the experiments you want are the "b30.036[a-e]" series; see https://www.earthsystemgrid.org/dataset/ucar.cgd.ccsm.b30.036a.htmlhttps://www.earthsystemgrid.org/dataset/ucar.cgd.ccsm.b30.036b.htmlhttps://www.earthsystemgrid.org/dataset/ucar.cgd.ccsm.b30.036c.htmlhttps://www.earthsystemgrid.org/dataset/ucar.cgd.ccsm.b30.036d.htmlhttps://www.earthsystemgrid.org/dataset/ucar.cgd.ccsm.b30.036e.html Feel free to ask questions!

Thank you both for your insight! I'm looking at the list of links you posted strandwg, I have to register and request permission to access the data so hopefully that goes over well. I will likely have questions along the way!
