Modified a restart file?

Dear CAM-forum,

I am using the last version of CAM-CLM. I would like to make a branch simulation with a modified topography.

I tried to modify the topographic initial condition "bnd_topo" but it does not work. I assume I have to change the topography inside the restart file (PHIS).

So my question, how could I read an unformatted format? I do not know how the restart file is written. and I would like to read it with fortran.

Please could you specify the version of CAM you are using when you say: The last version of CAM_CLM. Is its the last version of the trunk (cam3_6_58) ? Is the last release ? Thanks
