moisture budget question

Hello,

I am doing some analysis that involves looking at the moisture budget
in CAM. I know that I need to include the following terms:

(1) Evaporation from the surface into the colum
(2) Precipitation
(3) Vertically integrated moisture flux convergence into the column

I am not sure if I also need to consider the evaporation of rain
into the column. Or put another way, is the precipitation that CAM writes to the history files the precipitation that makes it to the ground or is the the precipitation that condenses in a column some of which may evaporate on its way down?

Tomas,

Rainfall diagnostics in CAM (PRECC,PRECL,PRECT) are amounts that are reaching the ground, so you do not have to consider re-evaporation if your looking at column integrated budgets.
Thanks
