MOM6 config working with gnu, but not intel compile

I am running a regional MOM6 configuration that includes sponges (u, v, tracer) and ice. Currently, the simulation fails if the code is compiled with intel but runs if compiled with gnu. However, our system is optimized for intel and the gnu compile is prohibitively slow. Has anyone else encountered this issue?

Liz, can you open an Issue at GitHub and provide more details, e.g. backtraces? If something is crashing with Intel compilers then it will probably require a bugfix.
