multiple instance, different surface data

Hello,for doing data assimilation I'm exploring the multi instance capabilities of CESM and especially CLM.

Is it possible to have an independent surface dataset for each ensemble?
Also, could a different forcing dataset be applied to each ensemble? I'd like to run the model in offline mode.

Any details on this would be the most welcome.
