naming for a case

Can someone out there tell me what is the difference between b30.036a and
b30.036e, ie. what do a and e mean in the name? Thanks!!!!

The letter suffixes for CCSM3 run names represent different ensemble members.
b30.036a-e are five ensemble members for the IPCC T85_gx1v3 commitment runs.

Each of these runs are themselves started from end of the b30.0301a-e T85_gx1v3 20th century control runs created by branching off the original T85_gx1v3 long control integration (b30.020) at different years (yrs 360, 380, 400, 420, 440)
