Need information on CCSM3 simulated winds

I am planning to run WRF driven by the CCSM3 simulations and I need to know whether the CCSM3 simulated winds are relative to source grid or relative to earth.

Not sure exactly what you mean, but winds in CCSM are specific to a particular lat-lon location as given by the lat lon variables in the netcdf history files.

Thanks Richard. I think that your information suggests that winds in CCSM are relative to the source grid.
