Hi,
If I changes NTASKS_CPL=8 to NTASKS_CPL=1, will CCSM3.0 produce correct results, or any difference? Thanks.

Changing the number of CPL tasks should work fine. Your performance may change greatly. If you look at the various configurations that the CCSM scripts may produce you will see several different values.
