NSF NCAR’s Climate and Global Dynamics (CGD) Laboratory is excited to announce the job opening for a Project Scientist I in their Oceanography Section. This is a 2-year position. This position primarily supports the Community Earth System Model (CESM) Ocean Model Working Group (OMWG) activities. It combines scientific research with the day-to-day coordination and support of the OMWG. The main responsibility is to serve as the CESM OMWG science liaison with the other CESM working groups and the broad university community interested in the CESM, particularly its ocean component (Modular Ocean Model version 6, MOM6). The incumbent is expected to contribute to scientific research toward improving various aspects of the CESM ocean model independently and in collaboration with others. The incumbent is also expected to contribute to other projects involving CESM and its ocean component.
