ocean surface freshwater flux

I am trying to diagnose a loss of stability in the southern ocean as part of a regional calculation using cesm. I have two simulations: one is ocean only (configuration C) and one that is ocean-ice coupled (Configuration G). Both of these simulations use a data atmosphere.
Where can I find the freshwater/salt flux between the atmosphere and the ocean? The ocean (pop2) history file has a field SFWF (virtual salt flux in FW formulation) with units kg/m^2/d. Is this the combined freshwater flux from the atmosphere and the sea ice (whether cice or dice)? If not, where can I find net P-E exchange between the ocean and atmosphere? Are the data-ice fluxes saved anywhere for ocean only simulations? In the active cice case, the ice history file has two output variables, fresh_ai (ice to ocean freshwater flux scaled by ice area) in cm/day and fsalt_ai (ice to ocean salt flux scaled by ice area) in kg/m^2/d. These seem to be different representations of the same flux converted with the surface salinity. Right?
As a final comment, I need to multiply SFWF by 1000 for it to have a comparable size to fsalt_ai, which leads me to think that it has units of g/m^2/d. I would appreciate advice on where I can get the various parts to the surface freshwater/salt flux to the ocean. Thanks,John
