output model

Hi all;
I ran the model twice with FWsc2000climo compost. However, I ran the model once with the input data that the model downloaded and the second time by doubling the ozone value of the input data. Temperature changes and precipitation with doubling of ozone were important to me. The output of the model is a bit confusing. For example, by doubling the amount of ozone from 2001 to 2005, it shows a warming trend and then a cooling trend. I don't know if the output is correct or not!
Thanks

Hi Parisa,

You can check if the ozone field is actually doubled or not in the model by adding ozone to the history file output, which can be done by adding the following line to your user_nl_cam file:

Code:
fincl1 = 'O3'

after which you should have a new "O3" variable in your "h0" files that you can compare between the two runs.

However, a separate question is whether the model is responding correctly to the new ozone forcing, which I sadly do not know the answer to. So I am moving this question over to the WACCM forum, in case anyone there can tell you if the temperature trends you are seeing are realistic (or not) given the ozone changes.

Hope that helps, and have a great day!

Jesse
