ozone input file

Hi.

I've been using the mozart.o3.128x64_L18_1870-2000_c040515.nc input file for my 20th century global warming simulations with CCSM3. I'm trying to find out how the stratospheric component of this file was gathered. I've read the .readme file that accompanied this input file, but found the information there was not exactly the same as the description for the ozone forcing in the 20C3M run, although they used the same file. I checked the Kiehl et al (1999) paper, and they said that they copied observed, seasonal data from 1970 for all the years from 1870-1970, but it doesn't look like the file I mentioned above is constant (neglecting seasonal cycling) until 1970.

Is the stratospheric ozone data from NOAA, and if so, from which years and which dataset?

Thanks.

I created that 20C3M dataset - and the README at

http://www.cgd.ucar.edu/ccr/strandw...mozart.o3.128x64_L18_1870-2000_c040515.readme

details how it was generated.

The stratospheric ozone was taken from the NOAA dataset

noaao3.122yr.IPCC.041299.nc

the history of which is unclear to me. If you do not have that file, please let me know and I'll get it to you.
