PaleoToolkit: 32. Atmosphere: customize aerosol settings

Hi,
I'm using a pdf file in the PaleoToolkit called PaleoToolkit Documentation for Deeptime CESM1.2, and at step 32, the output file is used in Step 34, but it's not clear where to use each output file explicitly. How do I write user_nl_cam? I am troubled and wish for an answer.
