PE Layout and model speed

Dear all, I have a question about how fast the model can run. I am running f19_g17 for B1850 compset with 144 tasks (6 nodes) for each component but model is quite slow. Each timestep for CAM lasts longer than 1min. Is this normal or am I set up something wrong ?

That does seem slow, but 144 tasks isn't that many tasks for B1850. Here's a link to some timings and processor layouts

Thanks very much. Is it possible to switch off some chemistry processes in CAM so that the model can run faster?
I remember there is an option like this in CESM1 but I cannot find it in CESM2 :)
