Plotting output from CAM run with "se" dycore on "ne" grid

Hi all

I apologise if this matter is dealt with elsewhere, but I have been unable to find anything instructive on the matter. I also apologise if this is the wrong forum to be posting this query in.

We have run a short CESM1.2.0 F compset case with CAM4 and we are wondering whether there is a relatively easy way to plot the output for the CAM history output. There appears to be a regridding tool for CLM4 output in the ${CCSM_ROOT}/models/lnd/clm/tools directory, but we have been unable to find something similar for CAM output. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thank you in advance

There are tools in NCL to Regrid with Earth System Modeling Framework (ESMF) software.https://www.ncl.ucar.edu/Applications/ESMF.shtml See for instance example 17 :https://www.ncl.ucar.edu/Applications/Scripts/ESMF_regrid_17.ncl

Thank you very much for the response, Hannay. I neglected to say that the run is being done on a local cluster. The script https://www.ncl.ucar.edu/Applications/Scripts/ESMF_regrid_17.ncl and the seemingly similar https://www.ncl.ucar.edu/Applications/Scripts/ESMF_regrid_18.ncl, require a file fv_sstghgcl_aero_01.cam2.h0.1999-01.nc as a destination grid. I have been unable to find such a file available for download. Could you perhaps suggest where I might be able to find it or what type file (presumably some sort of SCRIP grid file?) I might be able to use as a replacement for it.  Thanks again

This is the data file containing destination grid. It depends which destination grid you want. Here I am attaching a file f09.nc for the f09 grid but it is basically anything you want. You will need to unizp the filegunzip f09.nc.gz
