point scale run using CLM4.5

Hi:I am setting up a point scale run using CLM4.5. I am using user defined forcing data. Accordingly, i have created three stream flies. However, DATM is not able to read these steram files. Following error is there in atm log file:***************************(shr_stream_init) Reading file user_datm.streams.txt.CLM1PT.Solar

Sanjiv,I suggest that you compare your files with the files provided with the model release. This way you may find what is wrong with your data. It may even be helpful to run the model with the files provided for point runs to confirm that these files work and this may help clarify why your files don't work.Sam

Hi Sam:I tried running with the given file "datm.streams.txt.CLM1PT.CLM_USRDAT". I do not why run is crashing only for these two varibles; and not for other varibles e.g. FSDS, SHUM etc.In my earlier case, i was using the 'datm.streams.txt.CLM1PT.CLM_USRDAT' file to create three stream files.  thankssanjiv kumar

Here is the solution (Thanks to EriK) Copy user created stream files to your run direcotry. Script does not do it automatically, you nedd to copy it manually to your run directory.In my case copied user_datm.streams.txt.CLM1PT.Solar to /glade/scratch/kumar34/my_1x1_KS_testcase/runThis solves the problem.-Sanjiv Kumar

This error was due to not specifying the variable name correctly in the stream file. Follwing varibles names works:                     TBOT     tbot            SHUM     shum            WIND     wind            PRECTmms precn            FSDS     swdn            PSRF     pbot            FLDS     lwdn         This sloves the reported problem (Thanks to Erik). -Sanjiv Kumar

Hi, I need to run forcing data with 15 minutes interval. I have one question. How did you get this user_datm.streams.txt.CLM1PT.Solar file. I mean how can I get the names of  datm.streams.txt.CLM1PT.Solar, datm.streams.txt.CLM1PT.Precip, datm.streams.txt.CLM1PT.TPQW ? Thanks a lot for the help.
