POP restart files

I am trying to run a hybrid run of CCSM3 and it gives an error message that it can not find the time-averaged POP restart files, *pop.rh*. But the restart file that I was given does not contain such a POP file, only *pop.r*. Is there a way around this or must I have an rh file?
