Here's an opportunity to work with regional MOM6:

The Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences Program at Princeton University in cooperation with NOAA's Geophysical Fluid Dynamics Laboratory (GFDL) seeks postdoctoral research associates or more senior scientists to develop, analyze, and apply high-resolution ocean-ecosystem hindcasts and predictions along the east coast of the United States. The candidate would use existing simulations and, as required, generate new predictions to address a range of ocean prediction challenges including, but not limited to, prediction of marine heatwaves and other ocean extremes, development and interpretation of interannual to decadal forecasts, application of statistical pre-processing, downscaling and post-processing to improve forecast skill and utility, and application of forecasts to living marine resource challenges. The candidate will work with Drs. Andrew Ross (andrew.c.ross@noaa.gov) and Charles Stock (charles.stock@noaa.gov) at GFDL, collaborate with an interdisciplinary project team, and engage with climate and regional ocean model development and application efforts across Princeton, GFDL, and partners. Candidates must have received a Ph.D. in the earth sciences, applied math, or the physical, biological, or chemical sciences. Candidates with modeling experience and interdisciplinary knowledge of climate dynamics, ocean circulation and marine ecosystems are particularly encouraged to apply. This is a one-year position, with the possibility of renewal based on additional funding becoming available, and satisfactory performance.

Complete applications, including a CV, publication list, a one-to-two page statement of research interests, and contact information for 3 references should be submitted by March 31, 2022, 11:59 pm EST for full consideration. Princeton is interested in candidates who, through their research, will contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community. Applicants should apply online at Application for Postdoctoral Research Associate - East Coast ocean-ecosystem hindcast and prediction.

This position is subject to the University's background check policy.

Princeton University is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to age, race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
