Prescribe surface wind stress anomalies

Hi all,I want to modify the restart file of a simulation, and use the resulting file as the initial condition of a new run. I want to modify the surface zonal wind stress by introducing an anomaly in the western Pacific, and see what is the effect in the ocean subsurface (ENSO). - Which variable/s should I modify from the restart file/s? - Should I modify "U" from CAM's restart file at the lowest tropospheric level only? - Should I modify "U" from CAM's restart file at other low vertical levels, so that the model is not somehow unstable? (e.g. prescribed zonal wind anomaly that decreases in magnitude to zero with altitude?). - Should I modifiy other variables? If so, which ones and how (in order to keep the coherence between variables)? This is the configuration of my experiments: 1.9x2.5_gx1v6 and 2000_CAM5_CLM40%SP_CICE_POP2_RTM_SGLC_SWAV.Thank you so much.joan
