problem in output files of CAM

I have added 5 new variables to CAM as fincl2 variablew. These variables were Ozone and the four dust bins. The output for ozone (and so for the others variables as dust) concentration has this format :

1.51771122156288e-08, 1.62084765937997e-07, 3.48142097399674e-07,

The question is how can I understand in which hight, pressure level, longtitude and latitude each concentration number is reffed to? And as CAM results is going to be used for input files to another model, how can I interpolate these results to other pressure levels (could you suggest a script maybe)? I tried to use vert_1.ncl but unfortunately an error was appeared "no valid values in scalar field; ContourPlot not possible:[errno=1101]"

Thaks everybody!

Hi,

Use the standard tools like ncdump to see output variables and array index attributes ,....to see/shade/plot etc you can use standard tools such as grads , ferret ,ncl..
When the variable has more than 2 dimentions say 4dimentional ----Velocity(time,lev,lat,lon) it is not easy for you to
copy data from a 2d output on screen for post proc etc.. Use of above tools make life simple.

For interpolation to pressure levels i feel ncl should be easy . for support on ncl

I am trying to plot my results in netCDF format and I use vert_1.ncl script to plot T in several pressure levels. The pressure levels are made in relation with surface pressure PS and as a fact PS is been asked-called by the script. When I tried to run the script a message occured "fatal:vinth2p: Surface pressure must have same number of latitude elements as input" and "fatal:Execute: Error occurred at or near line 38 in file vert_1.ncl".

seems you did not use function vinth2p properly and this is not place where we can discuss problems related to ncl .mail me your modified ncl script to suvarchal.kumar@gmail.com .
