PTCLMmkdata in CLM5.0

Hi,
I am trying to set up point simulations on our cluster with my own atmospheric forcing dataset. To generate the custom surface dataset, we are using PTCLMmkdata.py . When attempting to generate mapping files, ESMF_RegridWeightGen keeps failing when attempting to regrid the UGRID_1km-merge-10min_HYDRO1K-merge-nomask_c130402.nc file. It works for all the other grids though. We have ESMF v 8.0 installed and i've tried running it with the --64bit_offset option as well since it is such a big file. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to solve this issue? Thanks, Johanna

Hi Johanna,
I had the same problem. I solved the problem by using more than 128GB RAM for running mkmapdata. The ESMF requires much more RAM to generate the 1km scrip file.
