Question about activating three “inactive” PFTs?

Hi,

I am working on a regional-scale simulation. One of the things is to activate three “inactive” PFTs via “mergetoclmpft” in the parameter file. And I also changed the surface dataset accordingly. However, it leads to an error. I've never seen this error before.

It states that "If you are seeing this message at the beginning of a run with use_init_interp = .true. and init_interp_method = "use_finidat_areas", and you are seeing weights less than 1, then a likely cause is: For the above-mentioned grid cell(s): The matching input grid cell had some non-zero-weight subgrid type that is not present in memory in the new run."

Could anyone help me explain the issue and advise me on how to address this? For convenience, I also attached a log file.

I think the problem is related to an error that occurs earlier in the log file:

8: check_weights ERROR: at l = 134 total PFT weight is
8: 1.22053005990729 active_only = F

So maybe your new surface dataset doesn't have pft distributions that sum to 100. See this post for more information:
