question about initial condition files for single-point simulation

Hi, all

I have a question about the restart file for a single point of operation, with my surfdata and landsusetime contents
PCT_CROP=100,PCT_NATVEG=0, PCT_CFT[38]=100 (oil palm),PCT_NAT_PFT[0]=100 (bare),
So I only have 2 PFTs where the values are present, and I run a single run, if I use the default initial file, e.g.
clmi.I2000Clm50BgcCrop.2011-01-01.1.9x2.5_gx1v7_gl4_simyr2000_c180715.nc
The generated finidat_interp_dest.nc, has the following attributes.

gridcell = 1 ; landunit = 2 ; column = 23 ; pft = 37 ;cohort = 1 ;
I have 2 questions
(1) what is the role and function of finidat_interp_dest.nc
(2) I only have two valid PFTs (oil palm and bare) for my surf and landuse files, why the pft becomes 37 and the column becomes 23 after interpolation?

Best

1) If I remember correctly, finidat_interp_dest.nc is saved so that the model will not have to repeat the initial interpolation every time you start the simulation.

2) I would be worried only if you found that the model assigned weights to pfts other than oil palm and bare ground.

About (1):
We have seen situations when this file becomes corrupted and needs to be removed before starting the simulation again.
