Question about running cases under future climates (SSP) using CLM5?

Hi,

I am working on regional-scale simulation using CLM5. I want to run some cases under future climates (e.g., ssp126/ssp585). Thus, I should use future atmosphere forcing as model input (i.e., 2015-2100). I understand there is an "anomaly forcing" option for CLM5. However, I want to use my future atmosphere data.

One of the methods may be to put future data into CLM5 existing atmosphere-forcing format (e.g., GSWP3V1 or CLMCRUNCEPv7). I am not sure if it does work. If not, what should I do?

Thanks!

Plus: I am using CLM1PT mode to add my own future climate data (SSP). CLM1PT mode seems to be flexible because I can easily extend this mode to a regional scale at different temporal frequencies. Is my understanding right? Thanks!!

1) I think it should work.
2) If it works to use CLM1PT to extend to regional, then that sounds fine to me.
