Question about the output frequency

Hello, I have a question about the output frequency.
In the CAM-Chem wiki, section "Changing output: frequency and species". I'm confused with the last sentence in the first paragraph: "*** Note only the first file can contain month averages***". I also find a similar expression in CAM6 user's guide part8:" Only the first file series may be a monthly average. "
I know the fincl1's defult output is a monthly average. Does the wiki's guide means only the fincl1 can contain month average, the other history files can't be month average? If I want to output some fields in fincl2,3,** in month average, should I change the user_nl_cam like:

avgflag_pertape = 'A','A'
mfilt = 1,1
nhtfrq = 0,0

Hi Paul,

That documentation appears to be out-of-date, as you should be able to set any CAM history file to contain monthly averages, using exactly the user_nl_cam modifications you have listed in your post.

We'll work on updating the documentation, and of course if you run into any problems or issues with setting the other history files then feel free to respond here (or create a brand new post).
