Question on "inithist"

Hi everyone, I am confused about the the namelist of "inithist". As shown in the figure below, I can choose to save initial files "6-hourly" or "daily". Does "daily" stand for "daily mean" or "every 24 hours"? In other word, will program save "time mean" or "instantaneous" result?
